Summer Vs Autumn Weddings – Last Few Dates Available For 2017

With a day to prepare, the big day itself and no rush afterwards, The Great Barn’s three-day exclusive hire is proving very popular for 2017. But fear not dear couples, the last few dates for 2017 are still available in some of the more popular months, namely June and September.

Great Barn Devon Weddings – Emma & Paul

Weddings at The Great Barn are always special, but when Emma and Paul came to see us, they were looking for help with a potential disaster. It was our absolute pleasure to host their incredible day with so many beautiful elements; the floral arrangements, the VERY cute flower girls, and the fireworks! We were also happy to see our festoon lighting and fire pit in full use, as the wedding guests took full advantage of all the Barn has to offer.

Do You Wedding Couple, Take Thee Wedding Insurance?

After hosting a lovely couple recently, whose venue suddenly went into liquidation and left them without a place to celebrate their wedding, it made us start thinking about what exactly is covered by your wedding insurance and how easy it is to find the right one for you.

Just look at these wonderful images, courtesy of Martyn Norsworthy, of the classically styled wedding of Alex & Richard. We particularly love the moments snapped in our walled garden and at the back of the Barn. And the hints of blue in the floral displays and the bridesmaids, adds a real splash of summer.

Great Barn Weddings – Daisy & Oliver

It gives us great pleasure to introduce you to Daisy and Oliver, who were married at the beginning of July. Theirs is, by far, the biggest wedding we have hosted with 200 guests. And we think the table layout worked really well to accommodate such a size, without losing that intimate feel. Photographer Emma Solley, has created some outstanding imagery and our good friend, Joanna Game, has done it again with her stunning floral creations.

Let’s Hear It For Silent Discos!

The Great Barn Devon, sits amongst acres and acres of gardens, farmland and woodland, nestled in a little hamlet. It’s the most gorgeous of settings and a true memory-maker for any bride and groom. So, when 200 guests arrive en masse and, as the mighty Prince one said, “Party like it’s 1999!”, just how do you give them a truly awesome celebration without upsetting the neighbouring residents and farm animals? The answer? A silent disco.
