But autumn brings with it such decadence and rich beauty, as the leaves on the ivy turn to a deep red and the garden releases its hold on summer. With 120 acres of countryside to take advantage of, this truly is a stunning time to make memories.

When photos drop into our inbox, it makes us very, very happy! And these are no exception. Florence and Richard were married here last month embraced by all their loved ones. The weather was spot on, the guests were beaming and that cake!!!
We’ve had a little rummage through our favourite bridal blogs and below are just some of the ways you can style your wedding or party, with one of the season’s current trends – the folding chair.
So that our brides can get married in the garden we are building a beautiful gazebo. We’ve used oak which has been cut from our woodland. The roof will be made from individual shingles from larch, sourced from a timber yard in the Teign Valley. Next step is to have it licensed and then we are good to go. The plan is for our brides to make their entrance through the little arched gate in our courtyard and walk the length of the lawn….on a fine summer’s day what could be more perfect!

Here at The Great Barn, Devon, from the outside our barn has all the charms and history of its 17th century birth date, but on the inside, the barn has been lovingly and sympathetically restored with a few 21st century additions; a state-of-the-art lighting system being one of them.
