Last September, The Great Barn Devon played host to a wedding so effortlessly glamorous that it caught the eye of British Vogue. E&F’s day was a breathtaking blend of timeless romance and modern elegance, set against the golden glow of late summer sunshine. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was electric — an air of love, excitement, and undeniable style filled every corner of our beautiful estate.
The couple exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony in our picturesque gardens, surrounded by lush Devon countryside, before moving indoors to dine and dance beneath the soaring beams of our historic barn.
The bride’s impeccable style was a definite highlight of the day. For the ceremony itself, she stunned in a full-length, minimalist silk gown – understated yet utterly chic – before transforming into a structured lace corset and playful mini skirt ahead of the evening celebrations. And, of course, each look was perfectly complemented by a different pair of lustworthy Jimmy Choo pumps.
As the sun set and the party came alive, E&F and their guests embraced the magic of the moment, dancing late into the night. A true Vogue-worthy affair, and one we won’t soon forget.
Reflecting now on that gloriously sunny September day in the countryside, it’s the ceremony itself that stands out the most, says the bride. “It was held outside under a wooden arbour, and I arrived from the far end of the garden, so I got to see everyone as I walked through which was amazing – as was getting to see Florent. We didn’t want the ceremony to feel stuffy; it was low-key but still so personal to us. I remember feeling so excited but also at ease – and ready to party!”
