Harriet & Matt were married with us last year. They chose a beautiful church wedding followed by fun, frivolity and celebration at The Great Barn. The full shebang was photographed by Will Stedman and we think he really did capture the true essence of the day. The rain did not stop play, in fact, it actually made for some very beautiful photographs.

Toni Ardron and Michael Rose were married at The Great Barn Devon in May this year. We spoke to Toni who told us all about how they met, the proposal and all the lovely details of this very special wedding day, captured beautifully by Thomas Frost Photography.

The Great Event, it’s a collection of handpicked, unique pieces of furniture, linens, accessories, cutlery, crockery and props for you to hire for your wedding or party. Hosting many weddings across the year, means we have accumulated quite a hoard of beautiful things, from unusual Indian chairs, to simple wooden trestle tables; from hurricane lamps to chalkboards and easels.
Our Great and Good post this month is dedicated to brides. Those that we meet and the ones that we ‘Ooh and Aah’ over, on the pages on our favourite bridal blogs. It’s all about the gowns, the accessories, the make-up, the hair and the moments captured when girl meets boy (or girl) and they fall in love all over again.
Weddings are, of course, extremely personal and today’s is no exception. Because Neil, the groom, grew up very close to the couple’s chosen church, which he could see from his home, the couple knew that getting married somewhere with such personal meaning, was crucial to building new memories together.
