Winter still has us in her frosty grip, but we are inspired by the beautiful, crisp sunshine that we are being treated to and that gives us lots of lovely ideas for spring weddings. We are so excited to see what our lovely couples will be doing for their weddings this upcoming season. Spring at the barn is such a wonderful time of year. New life is pinging up all over the garden and the days start to stretch out a little longer.

To give you gorgeous, newly-engaged couples a bit of loved-up inspiration, we thought we would put together a little gallery or just some of the incredible weddings we have been lucky enough to host, here at The Great Barn.
Entertaining your guests has never been easier. There are so many ways to interact with your friends and family and keep them happy and relaxed at those ‘in between’ times of your big day. Here are just some ideas that have worked really well with our wedding couples; we’d love to know what you are planning to do.
Here at The Great Barn, Devon, from the outside our barn has all the charms and history of its 17th century birth date, but on the inside, the barn has been lovingly and sympathetically restored with a few 21st century additions; a state-of-the-art lighting system being one of them.
Lace – it’s traditional, it’s simple, it’s elegant and it’s here to stay. We are loving all the beautiful ways to incorporate lace into your wedding day, from the bride and her gown, or accessories, to the table and stylish touches around the wedding venue.
Here’s some of our favourites; you can head over to our Pinterest board to see some more. We’d love to know how you incorporated lace into your wedding details.
We are sooooo excited to be showcasing some of the examples of our beautiful furniture, accessories, props and event hire supplies at The Decidedly Different Vintage Wedding Fair, this weekend.
Weddings at The Great Barn are always special, but when Emma and Paul came to see us, they were looking for help with a potential disaster. It was our absolute pleasure to host their incredible day with so many beautiful elements; the floral arrangements, the VERY cute flower girls, and the fireworks! We were also happy to see our festoon lighting and fire pit in full use, as the wedding guests took full advantage of all the Barn has to offer.
Winter and, more specifically, Christmas add an extra special touch to a wedding, we think. The bride can accessorise with some incredibly beautiful details; from furs to flakes, from rich colours to warm winter woollies! Here are just some of our favourite seasonal bridal accessories. You can see more over on our Pinterest boards!
Neil & Graeme Knight-Gibbons were married on the 1st October 2016!
They chose to have their wedding in October because of their love for Autumn and the colours this season produces, which they incorporated into their day as much as possible. With no particular theme in mind, the couple just wanted everyone to have fun, enjoy themselves and be involved in the day as much as possible.
